Students need 100 training hours to earn certification and pay a $500 non-refundable deposit to hold a seat. Classes are limited to six students. Graduates must apply for a license through their local health department, and the business puts yearly renewal at about $500. According to the business, it is one of a small number of salons and spas licensed by the Lake County Illinois Health Department to offer these services.
