The Red Curl is a Louisville salon built around curly hair. Cindy McFarland created the salon after many years as a stylist, when she discovered DevaCurl products and cutting techniques that changed how she worked with curls.

Cutting is done on dry hair with a custom curl cut that keeps each client's natural curl pattern intact. Returning clients book a visit that leaves plenty of time for questions and concerns, while first-time clients get a longer appointment that includes a wash, custom curl styling with curl-focused products, and a full lesson on styling their curls on their own.

The salon's emphasis is on teaching clients to style their own curls, so the work carries on at home between visits. Event styling is also available for special occasions such as weddings, parties and photo shoots.

The salon is open Tuesday through Thursday, with afternoon hours on Wednesday, and Friday and Saturday mornings. It is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Cutting is done on dry hair to preserve natural curl pattern, and first visits focus on teaching clients to style their curls at home.
