The Plucked Peach

The Plucked Peach is a locally owned skincare studio in Morrow, Georgia, which the business places in the heart of Atlanta's Southside neighborhood. The studio describes itself as a destination spa for beauty and self-care and says its customer service is exceptional. Owner and founder Davalyn Jenkins spent 14 years in the insurance industry before changing careers to beauty.

Services fall into three groups: hair removal, facials and skincare, and intimate care. Waxing uses hard or soft wax, applied in the direction of hair growth and removed against it, and a vegan, all-natural wax is available for clients sensitive to traditional waxes. Sugaring, made from a paste of sugar, water and lemon juice, is offered as an alternative for clients allergic to wax preservatives or resins. Clients get a skin assessment before waxing so the esthetician can choose products and technique.

Facials begin with a consultation, after which the esthetician builds a customized treatment plan. Advanced options include dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, LED light therapy, chemical peels and Hydrafacials. Facials are offered to teens, women and men. The studio carries skincare products aimed at acne, hyperpigmentation, sun damage and wrinkles, and sells an exclusive in-house skincare collection.

Vajacial treatments cover the pubic mound, bikini line and outer labia. Each one starts with a cleanse, an exfoliant and removal of ingrown hairs, and several options address hyperpigmentation, ingrown hairs, blackheads, vaginal acne and dryness. V-Steam is a vaginal steaming hydrotherapy in which the client sits over a pot of herb-infused water. It is offered for concerns including menstrual irregularity, prostate issues, hormonal imbalances and postpartum concerns, and is not given to clients who are pregnant, in menstrual flow, or who fail the screening listed on the services page.

Clients must be at least 14, and minors need a parent or guardian present at the first visit for consent. Booking requires a deposit of 50 percent of the service total, which is deducted at the visit and is non-refundable. Changes and cancellations need 24 hours' notice, and late cancellations and no-shows are charged 50 percent of the service amount. Walk-ins are seen when possible but are not guaranteed. The studio is closed Mondays, open Tuesday through Saturday, and open Sunday afternoons with additional pricing that may apply.
