The Pearl Beauty Room

The Pearl Beauty Room is a Tulsa business on East 41st Street, co-owned by business partners Caitlin Cantrell and Molly Kirkland, both licensed estheticians. Its menu centers on body waxing, facial waxing, brow work, lash services and facials, grouped into booking categories for body waxing, brow artistry and facial waxing, facials and bundles, full-body facials, and lash services.

The facial menu includes vajacials, booty facials and dermaplane facials. A vajacial pairs a Brazilian wax with a post-wax skincare routine that includes exfoliation, extractions if needed, soothing masks, high-frequency treatment and red light therapy. Dermaplaning is not recommended for active acne or certain skin conditions, and the salon states that dermaplaning does not make hair grow back thicker or darker.

Intimate lightening is offered to address hyperpigmentation in the underarms, bikini area, inner thighs, neck and perianal area. Bikini waxing is reserved for clients with vaginas. Brow stain is a semi-permanent tint that lasts up to 7 to 10 days on the skin and 4 to 6 weeks on the hair. Typical timing is 3 to 4 weeks for brow waxing and shaping, 6 to 8 weeks for lash lifts and brow lamination, and 2 to 3 weeks for tints.

To prepare, facial clients should arrive with clean skin and no makeup, oils or self-tanner on the treatment area, and should avoid retinol, exfoliants and strong acids for 3 to 5 days beforehand unless instructed otherwise. Hair should be about a quarter inch long before a wax. Cancellations or reschedules need at least 24 hours' notice, and no-shows or late cancellations may be charged a fee. The studio has a play area for children.
