The Parlor is a one-person hair suite on the second level of the Salonlofts building in Davidson, in the Harris Teeter shopping center above the dry cleaners. Stairs run up each side of the building and an elevator sits in the center, and parking is available along Jetton Street or in the shopping center.
Gloria Cherry owns the loft and is its only stylist. The stylist does not book clients at the same time, and guests are asked to come alone when possible, so each visit is a private, one-on-one appointment.
The color menu runs from a quick root touch-up along the part and hairline to a full blonde service with foils and balayage on the ends. Several color services list a suggested rebooking window, from every four to six weeks for a root refresh up to every ten to twelve weeks for a full-color service. A root retouch can also be paired with a keratin smoothing treatment, with a full haircut added on at an additional charge.
Clients book through the SalonLofts booking portal, where they create a new account and manage their appointments. Confirmations are sent right after booking, and messages, emails and calls are usually returned within 24 hours. Payment is accepted by cash, major credit cards, Venmo and PayPal, but not personal checks.
The suite has a stocked coffee, beverage and snack bar, free Wi-Fi, charging cables and charger ports at the station, and light, relaxed music. Smocks are available for anyone wearing a bulky sweater or hoodie.
