The Nest Salon

The Nest Salon was established in 2016 with a single studio that soon outgrew its original space. A second location opened in 2019 alongside an expanded team. The business is founded by Jessica Bird, a hair stylist who has worked in Orange County for more than ten years, and Jason Bird led the construction of both locations.

The salon describes its goal as creating a safe place where each guest feels recognized for their own individual beauty. It calls its experience a modern, laid-back luxury, which is the salon's own description.

The two locations feel different. The Valencia Avenue studio is described as cozy, while the Brea Boulevard salon is larger and busier. The Valencia Avenue studio is also listed as The Painted Nest Studio.

Appointments are not booked through the website. Each stylist manages their own bookings, so clients reach out to the individual stylist they want. Changes to an appointment need to be made at least 48 hours ahead, and later changes carry a cancellation fee. Guests who arrive more than 15 minutes late may have their service shortened or moved, and a late reschedule incurs a same-day cancellation fee. The salon does not offer refunds of any kind, asks guests not to bring extra companions, and welcomes children by appointment only. It reserves the right to decline service to anyone.
