The Nail Atelier in Winter Park

The Nail Atelier was founded in October 2017 by Mai, who set it up to bring beauty and photography together.

Sessions are one on one and by appointment, Thursday through Monday from 11am to 6pm, with after-hours appointments available for an additional fee. Bookings are made by texting the studio. A non-refundable deposit is taken at booking and applied to the service on the day. Changes need at least 48 hours' notice, and frequent cancellations or rescheduling may limit future bookings. Before a first visit, new clients send a photo of their current nails and of any nail art they have in mind, and say who referred them. Product removal is reserved for existing clients, and new clients need bare, healthy nails when booking.

The BESPOKE Gel Manicure, from $90, is the salon's signature service, with nail art tailored to each client and a recommended refresh every three weeks. The salon describes it as its most popular service. The Classic Gel Manicure at $60 is detailed with a dry manicure technique and is also recommended every three weeks. The Classic Gel Pedicure at $90 includes cuticle and nail shaping, heel and leg scrubbing and a solid gel color, and is suited to clients with healthy toenails and feet, with a recommended visit every six to eight weeks. Gel-X extensions start at $85 and are lightweight gel-based extensions. Bespoke nail art can also be added to a few fingers at $5 and up per finger, depending on intricacy.

Beyond appointments, the studio takes editorial and commercial work and runs workshops and demonstrations. It also sells a small range of products, including cuticle oil, water color, a glitter collection and white linework gel.

Each session is one-on-one and appointment based, with nail art tailored to the individual client.
