The Makeover Studio

The studio continues the work of Christopher Hopkins, founder of The Makeover Guy, and states its mission as helping women rediscover confidence and beauty. It describes its experiences as luxury makeover experiences and calls The Cover its most comprehensive offering.

The Feature ($333, about 2 hours) is a private silhouette analysis. Kayla Francis and Jamie Hamilton take body measurements, and the studio's proprietary measurement-based system produces a 14 to 18 page assessment. Joann Hopkins then reviews it one-on-one with the client. The Reveal ($888, with a $444 reservation deposit) includes a consultation covering facial structure, color, head shape, hair texture and lifestyle, a customized hair color, haircut and styling, a mini facial, precision brow shaping, a personalized makeup lesson, a wardrobe edit where clients bring one or two outfits, and final photographs. Lunch is included, and a silhouette analysis with Joann Hopkins is an optional add-on. The Cover ($1,222, with a $611 reservation deposit, about 8 hours) combines a silhouette analysis by Joann Hopkins with a full in-person beauty transformation, followed by ongoing support where the team answers questions after the appointment. Clients are asked to arrive with little or no makeup, change into a studio gown and are offered herbal tea on arrival. The studio provides all hair and makeup products, though clients may bring their own favorites. Glasses can be worn and are worked into the look. Clients are encouraged to record the makeup lesson to recreate the look at home. Lunch is served at an antique dining table dating to the late 1800s. The reservation deposit secures the appointment date and is applied to the final balance, which is paid at the end of the experience. All major forms of payment are accepted, and gratuity is at the client's discretion. Color services that run beyond the initial 3-hour window for extra-long, extra-thick or corrective work are billed at $100 per additional hour. Experiences are filmed, and clients agree to photography and filming as part of the experience.
