The Loc Smith operates out of a home salon in Conroe, Texas, located off Highway 242 and kept separate from the owner's living quarters. Every new loc service starts with an in-person consultation, which is required before any interlocking service or new establishment. The $100 consultation fee is non-refundable and goes toward the deposit and installation fee. During the consultation, the owner measures the hair, assesses curl pattern, scalp and breakage, and installs four to twelve sample locs. Clients who book an installation afterward pay a $150 deposit at the end of the consultation.

Installation pricing starts at $800 for Micro Twists in 3/8 inch, $600 for Micro Twists in 1/2 inch, and $1,000 for Micro Twists in 1/4 inch. Micro Interlocks start at $900 in 1/2 inch and $2,000 in 1/4 inch. The Sisterlocks Package starts at $1,000, with the owner choosing sizing under Sisterlocks guidelines. Installations run about 12 hours. Micro Interlocks in 1/2 inch is listed as suited to clients with low density hair.

Retie appointments are listed at 2 hours 30 minutes, with or without wash, and the price varies. Appointments running beyond 2.5 hours are charged $60 per hour, mainly for large jobs or high loc counts. The owner keeps a digital photo record at each retie and gives clients access to it.

Transfer clients contact the owner first and submit a transfer questionnaire with photos of their locs. Transfers are accepted from locticians and from do-it-yourself lockers, and clients with significant new growth or repair needs speak with the owner before booking. Mobile services carry travel fees that are non-refundable and charged each visit. Payment is accepted by cash, Zelle, Apple Pay, credit card and Google Pay through Square. A late fee of $1 per minute applies after five minutes, and the same amount is credited off the retie if the owner starts late.

Every interlocking service begins with an in-person consultation so the hair and scalp can be assessed and sample locs can be tried before any installation is booked.
