The Curlology Salon has operated for 17 years in Atlanta and focuses on natural hair care. Its menu is built around silk presses, protective styles, cuts, color and treatments, with longer services such as micro locs and crochet braids.

A visit usually starts with a consultation if a client wants one. The consultation is a 30-minute information session with a hair analysis, priced at $45. It is recommended but not required, and if a client does not go on to book a service, the cost can be put toward a bottle of the salon's LOVE OIL.

Booking involves a deposit for each service, with the amount listed per service. Appointments can be cancelled online up to 24 hours ahead. Cancellations inside 24 hours need approval by text, and no-call, no-show and last-minute cancellations are charged at least 50% of the booked price.

Several services ask clients to come in with prepared hair. Silk presses and protective styles need hair fully detangled and free of braids, twists or weave before the appointment. Clients with hair or scalp concerns are advised to see a dermatologist or trichologist before getting locs.

The salon does not accept children or tender-headed clients under 12. Clients 12 and older should be comfortable sitting still for a long appointment and used to having their hair done. Hours are Thursday and Friday from 7:30 AM to 7 PM, Sunday from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and the salon is closed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.

Natural hair services including silk presses, protective and natural hair styles, cuts and trims, steam and protein treatments, micro locs and locs re-ties, crochet braids and removal, corn-rows, mini twists, and color services such as gloss, lift, retouch, highlights and dimensions. Prices run from $10 for an added steam treatment to $700 for micro locs past the shoulders.
