New clients start with a 20-minute consultation before their first hair appointment. The new client package covers the consultation, a cleanse, a deep conditioning steam treatment, a protein or strengthening treatment if the hair needs one, and styling. An aromatherapy scalp massage using essential oils, about 10 minutes long, is available as an add-on for $15. The loc and braid menu is extensive. Starter locs are installed with the two-strand twist method using diamond or C-shaped partings, and they require an in-person consultation first. Loc grooming includes cleansing, conditioning and root re-twisting with an all-natural oil blend, and loc interlocking adds the interlock technique. Goddess locs are human hair loc extensions with a wavy end, and the salon says they last up to four months with minimal maintenance. The Goddess loc style was created by Dr. Kari Williams. Knotless braids in small, medium and large sizes use the invisible root method and are typically touched up every 4 to 6 weeks, with human hair billed as an additional fee. The salon also offers in-home service for clients within 25 miles of 90230, with a travel fee. Cancellations or no-shows within 48 hours of an appointment are charged the full fee, certain services require a deposit, and gift card sales are final.
