Cultured Crowns Studio, at 721 West Broad Street, is where independent hairstylists, colorists, estheticians, nail technicians, barbers and beauty creatives run their own businesses in a shared upscale space. The Cultured Crowns hairstyling brand concentrates on hair care, installs and protective styling, and the business describes the studio as elevated and client-centered.

The hair menu is broad. Locs and twists range from retwists and starter locs to soft, invisible and passion styles, and a Loc Detox that includes a scalp treatment, retwist and styling. Sew-ins can be traditional, with a minimal leave-out, or flip-over with flexible parting. A sew-in visit includes shampoo, steamed deep conditioning, scalp care, a trim, braid-down, installation and styling. Installs can be done with a client's own extensions or with three bundles of Care for Crowns raw hair included.

Booking happens online through the studio's Glossgenius page. Most online services require a deposit between $5 and $80, and new clients booking a take-down pay a $20 deposit. Buy Now, Pay Later is available in person for bookings from $50 to $4,000, subject to approval before the appointment. Lash fills are offered when 50% to 65% of the extensions remain; clients with more than 65% are asked to book a full set, and those with under 50% need one too. Lash fill clients should arrive with clean lashes and no eye makeup. The business says it replies to messages within 24 to 48 hours.

The studio also leases booths to independent beauty professionals, who set their own hours, prices and policies. Booths include high-end styling stations, hydraulic chairs, full-size mirrors, a shampoo station, marble floors and countertops, full-spectrum lighting and storage cabinetry.
