The Color Shop is a hair color salon on the third floor of Ferrazz Hair at 289 7th Avenue in Chelsea, Manhattan. The salon describes itself as a light-filled boutique and a modern, minimal workshop. Its menu centers on color: all-over color, partial and full highlights, combinations of color with highlights, and treatments that support the hair during and after chemical work.

The salon was launched around 2020 by owner Ben Stewart, who has more than 30 years in the hair business and moved the salon into Ferrazz Hair in 2023. Before that he spent 16 years as Color Director at Cutler Salons, where he created the education program, and in 2015 he took a national Creative Director role at Red Door Salon and Spa, where he helped build a culture centered on education and a team of colorists.

Booking is online only, through the website or the mobile scheduling app, and a wait list form is available for openings. A credit card secures every appointment. Cancellations and reschedules need 48 hours' notice, and shorter notice incurs a $100 fee charged to the card on file. Color adjustments must be booked within two weeks of the first service. Major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Venmo are accepted, and gratuities can be paid in cash or approved payment types. Messages receive replies within 24 hours, from 9am to 9pm Monday through Saturday.

The salon aims for a lived-in color finish that does not look overdone, and it builds color around each client's own features.
