The Browtender Studio

Browtender was established in 2017, and the studio opened in 2020 in Nottingham before later moving to its current suite on Belair Road. Crystal Swinder, a licensed esthetician, founded the business and owns the studio. The Browtender name and BROWTINI hold United States trademarks, and the studio describes itself as a recognized name in the beauty industry.

Booking is by appointment only, and the calendar opens 90 days ahead on a rolling basis. Hours depend on each esthetician's own schedule. Cancelling at least 24 hours ahead costs nothing. Later changes forfeit the nonrefundable deposit and can bring the rest of the service price, and no-call no-shows and shortened appointments are handled the same way. Cancelling within two hours of the appointment carries a full no-show fee. Changes must be made through the client account and its confirmation email, since social media cancellations do not count. Cash is preferred, and Apple Pay, Venmo, Zelle and debit or credit cards are accepted.

A silent appointment, with little or no conversation, can be selected on the booking questionnaire. Complimentary snacks and hot and cold drinks are offered, which may include wine or other alcohol for guests 21 and older. Children are welcome if they are well behaved, seated and quiet, and the number brought in is limited unless they are receiving a service. The studio is not responsible for unattended children or lost belongings.

Brow work is central here: customized shaping, brow lamination, brow tints and brow stains. Brow lamination lifts the hairs with a product, then shapes and tints them, and the result lasts roughly four weeks. Waxing includes Brazilian waxing, done with Satin Smooth Pro, Ezee and Starpil. Lash lifts and lash tints are offered as well. Facials and skincare services use Estemax and Skin Script, and skincare regimens can be booked alongside brow services. Dermaplaning is a surface exfoliation that removes dead skin cells and fine vellus hair from the face. Custom tiny tattoos are performed by esthetician Desi. The studio does not offer permanent makeup of any kind. Fur Oil can be ordered online.
