Planning usually begins with a consultation. Patients can book in person or start with an initial virtual consultation, during which Dr. Ezzat can give a preliminary treatment plan estimate and advise on how long to plan to stay in Boston for surgery and early recovery. Patients travelling from out of town can use the Fly-In Program. Dr. Ezzat generally suggests waiting at least two weeks before traveling after surgery, and possibly as early as 10 days if needed. Patients are encouraged to bring detailed medical records, a medication list and a support companion.
