The Best Image is owned and run by Dominique Swanigan, a licensed cosmetologist based in Minneapolis who works with all curly and natural hair textures. The studio's menu is built around that focus, from curl-by-curl cuts and wash-and-go styling to twists, braids and rod sets.

A first visit usually starts with a conversation about the hair and scalp. The studio offers a 15-minute consultation for $15, and a longer Scalp Analysis/Hair Loss Consultation for $150 that looks at scalp health under a microscope and ends with a diagnosis and treatment plan. The DeeBeautifier Package, from $250, is a three-hour appointment that includes a first-time curly hair consultation, a detox, curl hydration and definition, and a cut.

Booking is handled online. A one-time, non-refundable deposit is required to hold an appointment, with deposits listed from $20 to $50 depending on the service, and the balance is paid after services are complete. Clients are asked to give 48 hours' notice to cancel or change an appointment; cancellations or no-shows inside that window forfeit the deposit. Buy Now, Pay Later is offered for in-person bookings from $50 to $4,000, after approval before the appointment.

Color is offered as an add-on that must be booked with a regular service, starting at $125 and taking about 135 minutes. Pricing rises by $20 for each additional 2 oz of product, and the service covers application, processing and product removal. Gift cards are sold in $50, $75, $100 and $200 amounts or a custom amount, and gift card sales are final.

The studio works toward healthy, hydrated hair and treats curly hair care as something that builds over time.
