The Beauty Parlor is on South Broadway Street in Coal City and groups its services into brows, color, haircuts, lashes, and wedding and wedding beauty work.

Nanoblading uses individual hair strokes, microshading (also called powder brow or ombre brow) builds shading, and combo brows combine hair strokes at the front with microshading from the middle to the ends. Each takes up to three hours and is priced at $500, which includes a 4 to 6 week touch-up. The salon says nanoblading is gentler on the skin than microblading and can last up to 3 years, compared with up to 18 months for microblading, and that microblading suits only dry skin while nanoblading suits all skin types. Results vary, brows are described as low maintenance rather than no maintenance, and touch-ups are charged by number of sessions and timeframe. Brow services take a $100 non-refundable deposit toward the total, with the balance due on the day. New clients who had brow work done elsewhere must send clear photos for approval before booking, and correction charges of $100 to $150 may apply. Clients are asked to avoid alcohol and caffeine for 24 hours before a brow procedure, and brow waxing is allowed no less than 48 hours before.

Hair services include a clipper and buzz cut from $15, which takes about 10 to 20 minutes, and a scissor haircut from $40 that takes about 30 minutes to an hour and can include long layers, short layers or pixies. Grey coverage is a root touch-up for grey clients only, covering up to 1/2 inch of outgrowth, from $65 and taking 1 to 3 hours. A full color refresh needs an all-over color booking, and added dimension needs a highlight booking. New clients are asked to call, text, message or email so the right hair appointment can be chosen.

Lash lift and tinting curls natural lashes and is semi-permanent, lasting about 6 to 10 weeks. For weddings, a formal hair style is a flat $85 per style and takes about 20 to 40 minutes depending on hair, and wedding makeup is a flat $85 per application that includes complimentary stripe lashes. The wedding team customizes each look to the client and says it will give honest feedback if a style will not work. Weddings need at least four services, such as two hair and two makeup, with a $100 deposit per artist to reserve the date. Outside artists may be contracted depending on how many services are booked, and the salon asks clients to collect payments from the party the day before, in cash only.

Booking and policies: deposits must be paid within an hour of booking and are non-refundable and non-transferable, preferably by Venmo or PayPal sent as friends and family, or a fee applies. Rescheduling needs 3 days notice, with one reschedule allowed within 72 hours of the appointment and a $50 fee after that. Arriving 15 minutes or more late may bring a $50 late charge for Jr. Artists or $100 for Master Artists, if the appointment is still accepted. No-shows without notice are charged the full appointment value. Clients with makeup or skincare sensitivities should bring their own preferred products. Children and pets are not allowed, and pricing is subject to change without notice.
