Tease brings several independent hair and beauty artists together under one roof in Katonah. Owner and founder Nikki De Maria leads as the lead hair artist, and the salon also keeps a retail section of hair and beauty products for clients to buy.

About

Hair services include haircuts for adults and for preteens and teens, barber cuts, blowouts and blowouts with a hot tool, and glam styling. Color work is built around a full consultation before any coloring service, and reference pictures are welcome. Custom blonding can include foil highlights, balayage, root smudging, root melting, lowlights, blonde tip-outs, glossing and double processing, with the technique chosen by the stylist. Lightening takes a long time, so clients are advised to ask how long an appointment will run. Final blonding prices depend on timing, product amount, techniques and hair length, so a quote is recommended before booking. Every color service includes a finishing blowout, and a haircut must be requested separately. Corrective color and hair extensions are priced by consultation at an hourly rate, and blowouts on extended hair carry an additional fee.

Spray tanning is done with Norvell solutions, and a full-body session runs about 15 minutes. The Original formula rinses off after 24 hours, while the Rapid formula reaches full color within a day and rinses off after 2 to 4 hours. Clients are asked to shave or wax at least 24 hours beforehand, and to wait 48 hours if they shave after a session. Every visit includes a single-use thong, pasties, neat feet, a hair net, a heated towel, a pre-tan exfoliating mitt, and pH balance and moisture lock sprays, and eye and nose protection with barrier cream can be requested. With proper at-home care, a tan typically lasts 7 to 10 days. Aftercare products are sold in the salon. Tanning packages of 3 or 8 are available and expire one year after purchase. In collaboration with The Skin Grotto, the salon also offers facials, brow lamination, eyebrow threading, lash lifts and tints, and lash extensions.

The salon says it uses top-of-the-line products across its services. Lightening services use the bond builders K18 and Olaplex. Clients need a valid credit card on file to book. Cancellations need at least 48 hours notice, with less notice charged 50 percent of the reserved amount and no-shows charged in full. Clients more than 15 minutes late may have their appointment shortened or moved, and a fee applies if it is moved to another day. Walk-ins are welcome when possible, though booking ahead is recommended. Payment is accepted by Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, personal check and cash, and gift certificates and digital eGift cards are sold.
