TBH Salon opened in 1995, founded by Tom Gardner and Thomas Songin, and has been part of North Beach for more than 25 years. It later moved two blocks from its first space into a larger one on Greenwich Street.

Booking is done online at any time, and clients can reschedule through the booking assistant. First-time guests complete a $50 in-salon consultation before booking, and that amount is applied to the next service. Services are offered a la carte. Hair past mid-back or textured hair carries a blowout surcharge based on how long the service takes. Appointments outside regular hours, such as before opening, after closing or on closed days, are arranged by contacting the salon directly.

Color is a major focus. Multidimensional color is customized to each client's skin tone and personality, and the Haute Balayage FX menu covers T-section, partial and full highlights, balayage and double process color. Balayage can be done freehand or with foil, plastic film or wax paper. Haircare treatments use Oribe and K-18 products, and Rene Furterer scalp treatments come in express and deluxe versions. In styling services, shampoo and conditioning are chosen for each client's hair type.

The team focuses on building trust with each guest so people leave feeling comfortable and confident in their own look.
