The salon's view is that no single brow shape suits everyone, because bone structure, hair growth, density, curl pattern and color all affect the result. Each visit starts with a discussion of the client's current brow shape, the areas that could be corrected, and a plan toward the shape that suits them. The salon says this educational approach is what sets it apart.
A parking garage is on 31st Street between 5th Avenue and Broadway. Clients may arrive up to 5 minutes early. A credit card is required to reserve future appointments. Cancellations need 24 hours' notice to avoid a $35 fee, and clients who cancel with 2 hours or less notice are charged the full service amount. Clients who miss an appointment are not rebooked until the missed service is paid for. Major credit cards and cash are accepted, and gratuities can be given in cash, through Venmo or through Zelle.
The initial and follow-up perfecting session can be booked as microblading, microshading, or a combination of the two, with a $300 deposit for microblading. According to the salon, results last between one and three years and vary by client. Sunscreen is recommended once the brows have fully healed to help limit fading. Touch-up sessions are available 6 to 11 months or 12 to 18 months after the initial session, but only for clients whose first session was at Taryn Brows and who retain at least 25% of the pigment. Microblading after 18 months is treated as a new service. The salon also sells its own eyebrow cosmetics line through its website and its 5th Avenue boutique.
The salon's approach centers on a tailored brow shape for each client and on educating clients about the work, rather than applying one standard shape.
