Tangles Salon

Tangles Salon opened in 2013 and is owned and operated by Christina and Kerry. The salon sits on Charles Street in La Plata and takes appointments online or by phone at 301-934-9200.

The services are built mostly around cuts and color. Clients can book a basic wash, cut and blow-dry, or pick from color options: root touch-ups that hide regrowth and either cover gray or keep an existing shade even, partial and full highlights, and balayage, which shifts from darker tones at the roots to lighter ones at the ends. Partial highlights add brighter strands that frame the face, run across the crown and fall along the sides, leaving most of the lower layers untouched. Full highlights are placed through the entire head.

The salon also offers a Brazilian BlowOut, a smoothing treatment that reduces frizz and adds shine. Results typically last up to 12 weeks.

The salon sells a private label hair care line, available only at the salon, that it describes as plant-powered, professional quality, and free from harsh chemicals.
