Tabb & Sparks was founded by the couple Kristina Tabb and Michael Sparks, who together have over 20 years of combined experience. The salon describes itself as Santa Monica's newest hair salon, and it also operates a second location in Los Angeles.

Appointments are booked by phone or by email, not online. A credit card number is needed to reserve. Cancellations made at least 24 hours ahead are free; shorter notice is charged 50% of the service fee, and missed appointments are charged the full service amount.
