A first visit is scheduled for about three hours. It begins with a discussion of medical history, the procedure, the options, and the shape and look the client wants. Measurements, pre-drawing and color matching are done before any work starts, and the client approves the design. Topical numbing creams and gels are used before and during procedures. Consultations are free, and patch tests can be booked by clients worried about product allergies, completed at least 24 hours before the appointment.

Before a procedure, clients are asked to avoid alcohol for two days and not to shave their brows, and skin that is sunburned or tanned has to heal before treatment.
