Swissa Med Spa describes itself as a medical practice offering aesthetic medicine rather than a salon. Its Calabasas studio is the original Ruth Swissa paramedical practice, opened in 1998, and the two share a building. Permanent makeup for brows, lips and the lash line was added in 2008, and a Beverly Hills location opened in 2015, one day a week by appointment. The practice states it has seen over 12,000 patients, and its listing names press coverage from Vogue, Allure, The New York Times and ELLE. Its 98 Google reviews average 4.5 stars.

A visit starts with a consultation covering goals, medical history and treatment options. Pricing is discussed at that visit. Treatments are charted, results are reviewed in person, and follow-up visits are built into every plan. Neurotoxin unit count and total cost are confirmed in writing before any injection. Calabasas is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., by appointment, with covered on-site parking and treatment rooms on the ground floor in a wheelchair-accessible space. The Beverly Hills location is open Wednesdays by appointment for injectables only.
PMU removal is done at Calabasas only, Tuesday to Saturday, using the PicoSure Pro picosecond laser. The practice says PMU removal differs from decorative tattoo removal in protocol and disclosure rather than equipment. If the test patch darkens, laser work stops, and the options become saline lightening, waiting, or a fade-and-redo plan. Listed typical Los Angeles ranges are $150 to $600 per session for eyebrow or eyeliner removal and $300 to $700 for lip blush, with fade-for-redo plans at $450 to $3,000 total and full clearance plans at $900 to $6,000 total. Saline removal is listed at roughly $100 to $300 per session. Microbladed brows typically take three to six sessions, and lip blush needs longer because lip skin clears more slowly. The practice does not treat PMU done in the last 12 months without a clinical reason, nor patients within six months of isotretinoin.
Calabasas is the only location that offers eyebrow hair transplantation, a surgical approach to restoring the brows. Follicular unit extraction (FUE) is the default technique, with long strip extraction (LSE) or follicular unit transplantation (FUT) available on request. Before surgery, the surgeon, the medical executor and the brow designer decide on the shape together, and the practice deliberately caps the number of cases it takes on. Every patient starts with a consultation, and scheduling follows approval of the plan. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia in one visit lasting four to six hours, typically placing 150 to 400 grafts per brow, and patients are advised to arrange a driver to take them home. Visible healing usually takes 7 to 14 days. Shock loss is expected around weeks 4 to 8, with regrowth appearing from about month 3, and the final outcome is assessed at month 12. Graft planning relies on a published FUE survival range of 80 to 95 percent. The procedure is not offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding, within six months of isotretinoin use, or for certain active conditions unless cleared.
At Calabasas, medical weight loss involves GLP-1 medication given under physician oversight, using either semaglutide or tirzepatide as a once-weekly subcutaneous injection that the patient administers at home. Starting doses sit below the therapeutic level and are raised every four weeks, with tolerability checked along the way. Intake includes a review of medical history, current medications, past weight-loss efforts and baseline labs. Candidates qualify with a BMI of 30 or above, or a BMI of 27 or above alongside a weight-related condition. Medication is not prescribed for cosmetic weight reduction lacking a clinical indication. Calabasas also offers vitamin injections (B12, NAD+ and glutathione), IV therapy, and hormone replacement therapy supported by comprehensive labs. Injections are not given without a prior intake.
Clinicians complete training in the paramedical studio before performing aesthetic treatments, and the practice describes shared technique as its main differentiator. Treatments are planned individually after consultation, and injectable vitamins are offered when oral vitamins are not enough.
