Sway Spa sits on Commonwealth Avenue in Boston, a short walk from Kenmore Square, and draws clients from the city, Cambridge and the surrounding suburbs. The spa has six private treatment rooms, two of which are set up for couples. Its menu covers massage, facials, waxing, brows and lashes, spa day packages and memberships. The spa says its treatments are fresh, innovative and distinct, and that it aims to give each client a one-of-a-kind experience. About

Visits usually begin with a conversation about what the client needs and wants. Staff tailor each treatment to the individual. Facials are performed by estheticians, who complete a skin analysis before treatment and choose products and techniques for each client's skin type and goals. Massage sessions also start with a consultation with the therapist. The spa states that it partners with established brands and uses and sells high-quality products. Massage therapists are described as licensed.

Couples massages have two therapists working on two people at the same time, in one of the couples rooms, which are described as private and calm, often with soft lighting and aromatherapy. Guests can then relax afterward, often with a drink or a light snack. Couples can choose Swedish, deep tissue or sports massage at no extra cost, and other types carry an additional charge.

The spa is open Tuesday to Friday from 11:00am to 6:30pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00am to 5:30pm. It is closed on Mondays. Clients are asked to arrive five to ten minutes before their appointment. Cancellations or changes need at least 48 hours' notice; within 48 hours, or for a same-day no-show, the full service fee is charged. Arriving late means receiving only the remaining time at full price, and arriving 30 minutes or more late counts as a no-show. Appointments can be booked or changed by phone or text, and calls outside business hours go to an answering service. Metered parking is available on Commonwealth Avenue and Beacon Street, valet parking is available through Hotel Commonwealth, and the MBTA Green Line B, C and D stops are nearby.

Treatments and recommendations are based on each client's needs and goals, with each service tailored to the individual. The leadership team says it keeps up with new equipment, techniques and staff training.
