Sundown & Rise Up

The studio is a hair salon in downtown Vienna. The salon describes itself as a new kind of salon experience for Vienna and nearby communities. Its work is built around hair, creativity, freedom, community and music, in an open space with an art-centered feel.

David McCarthy opened the studio as his own business after working in Washington, D.C., and then bringing his work back to Vienna, his hometown. Before that he spent eight years at Bellini's salon in Vienna, where he also taught and worked at industry hair shows.

Haircuts and blow-drys can be booked online. Color, highlights and balayage are booked by calling the studio or texting David's cell, because timing varies by client. Parking is in the rear of the building. The studio is closed on Sundays and Mondays. The team page lists salon assistants Kat, Ellie, Neha, Brittany and Patricia, and the studio has a shop dog named Zuul.
