Sugar Land Color Salon

Sugar Land Color Salon opened in March 2023 under owner and colorist Sherrie Hudgins. The salon centers on gray blending, hair transformations and color correction, and describes itself as small but mighty. It is located inside Image Salon Studios.

The salon books one client at a time so the stylist can give each visit full attention. Clients can start with a complimentary consultation, either in person or remotely. The consultation request asks for name, email, hair history, goals, an optional inspiration photo, and current photos of the top of the head and the full length of the hair. Haircuts are offered only alongside a color service, and each color appointment includes a blow-dry style and treatments suited to the client's hair. The salon uses K18 and/or Olaplex on every client.

Pricing depends on time, complexity and whether the client lives in an outlying city. Root and Refresh or Gray Blend is $75 per hour with a two-hour minimum, and the version with toning or lowlights starts at $150. Root and Refresh with highlights starts at $195. Highlighting and dimensional color is $85 per hour, Global Platinum and Spot Highlights start at $170 with a two-hour minimum, and Babylights, traditional highlights and balayage start at $255 and average about three hours. Color correction, transformations and gray transformations are $95 per hour, with session length and price set at consultation, and a follow-up session may be needed. Listed prices are minimums and typical costs for regular maintenance clients, so first appointments are likely to cost more.

Beyond the chair, the salon educates clients on hair care and how color works. It sells New Wash, a cleansing cream the salon says does not contain harmful detergents, along with Sprite water filters and hair care products the owner personally recommends through an online store. Gift certificates are available, and a free eBook titled Why You're Not Getting the Color You Want is offered. Clients can book by text or email, and if they cannot make an appointment they are asked to contact the salon as soon as possible so it can reschedule. Payments can be made by Apple Pay, credit or debit card, Zelle or Venmo.
