Studio Ë-lán Washington

Studio Ë-lán runs two Washington, DC locations, one at 3172 Bladensburg Road NE and one at 405 Rhode Island Avenue NE. The menu is organized into four groups: treatment and styling, texture care, halo enhancers (hair extensions and installs) and vibrant color. The treatment menu centers on the Crown Care HQ line, which covers leave-in conditioners, deep conditioners, hot oil, steam hydration, a gloss shine treatment, intensive reconstructive and protein treatments, an exfoliating scalp treatment, a fruit-based treatment and a wash-only service. Hair trims and cuts are also on the menu, and braid-down services are offered with or without a scalp treatment. Installs such as bonded and sewn weaves and per-track installs are offered, and a consultation is required before any hair install.

Color options range from a temporary color rinse and semi-permanent color to permanent color, foiling and a streak service that uses a cap. The studio also leases chairs and salon space to beauty professionals, including traveling stylists, for daily or weekly bookings in the DMV area. Renters are offered modern styling stations, comfortable dryer chairs, virtual concierge help, high-speed Wi-Fi, personal towel service, monthly industry updates and wellness resources. Shared spaces are capped at three professionals.

Clients are asked to arrive 15 minutes early, since late arrivals may not be able to receive their service. Cancellations need at least 24 hours notice, and a $25 non-cancellation fee applies. Clients should mention health conditions, including pregnancy, that could affect their service. Children under 8 are not serviced, and children 8 and older may stay only while a service is being performed. Retail products cannot be returned, exchanged or refunded. Clients who are unhappy with their service should let their designer know within 24 hours of the visit. New clients receive 10 percent off their first service, and referrals earn $10 off for both the referring client and the new client.

The studio pairs treatments with styling and offers consultations before install and sisterlocks work, so the service fits the hair and the goals the client describes.
