Bridal work is a major part of the business. All wedding hair and makeup artists are Studio 9 employees, and the work is not subcontracted. Each wedding party gets a written schedule, and the artist who does a bridal trial is the same artist who works the wedding day. Trials are one-on-one sessions for planning the look in advance. Bridal packages combine hair, makeup and touch-ups for the wedding party at a discounted rate, and groom and wedding party grooming is available. The salon says an entire wedding party can be ready within about two hours, and wedding parties receive complimentary coffee, tea, juice and pastries. The salon also describes itself as award-winning and as a leader in wedding hair and makeup, and says it has helped over 1,000 bridal parties in the past 20 years.

For weddings and events away from the salon, a mobile salon with two units serves barn weddings, remote locations, private homes and hotel rooms or short-term rentals. A travel team can work within an hour of either salon, but only in bridal suites, hotel venues or meeting rooms. A pop-up hair and makeup studio is set up for unusual spaces such as barns, warehouses, tents and backstage events. On mobile salon days, only guests receiving services at their scheduled time may board.

Hair services include precision cutting, color, custom styling and treatments such as keratin smoothing and bond repair. Color work centers on balayage, highlights and vibrant custom shades, with Joico used for color services. The salon says its colorists are certified. Each haircut starts with a consultation about the cut the client wants. Single-process color takes about 90 minutes, while full balayage, babylights and color correction typically take 2.5 to 4 hours. Personalized 15-minute phone consultations are offered to talk through hair goals and get pricing estimates. Lash fills, lifts and extensions are also offered.

The salon has two locations. The Sterling Heights site on Mound Road offers 20 styling stations, 6 makeup stations, two private wedding rooms and an outdoor patio. The Shelby Township site on Van Dyke Avenue, inside Da Francesco Plaza, is the newer of the two and has 8 styling stations for wedding hair and makeup, two makeup stations, a private wedding room, a changing room and free parking directly outside the entrance. Walk-ins are accepted at Shelby Township when a chair is free, though booking ahead is advised. For standard appointments the salon suggests booking one to two weeks out, and three to four weeks out for evenings, weekends and bridal parties.
