Strong Tresses

Strong Tresses is a hair salon on Crain Highway in Brandywine, Maryland, serving men, women and children. LaKisha Butler founded the salon and works there as master stylist.

The menu centers on hair: silk presses, wraps with curled finishes, sleek ponytail installs, re-twist and sculpted loc styling, designer cornrows, and full sew-in weave installs. Appointments run from about one hour to three and a half hours, and the listed prices range from $85 to $275.

Appointments are booked online only, and every service has to be chosen at the time of booking, since changes or additions cannot be made during the visit. A non-refundable deposit secures each appointment and is applied to the service total. The salon asks for at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule, allows one reschedule per appointment, and gives a 15-minute grace period for late arrivals. Payment is by credit or debit card, Square or Zelle; cash and Cash App are not accepted.

The salon is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 5:00 am to 11:00 am, and is closed on Sundays.
