The studio sits in a suite on Crain Highway in Brandywine, Maryland, and describes itself as a braiding and natural hair studio. Knotless braids and natural hairstyles are its main specialties, and the menu is broad, running from small knotless and boho installs to crochet, twists, locs, lemonade braids, tribal styles, ponytails, wig installs and children's services.

About

Bookings are made online through the studio's Glossgenius page. New clients must book a consultation before their first appointment. The consultation starts at $16, takes about 15 minutes, and can be done in person or virtually; virtual consultations need a cell number. Appointment requests are reviewed and must be approved before they are confirmed, and same-day appointments are not booked. Touch-ups are booked by text and have limited slots. Questions can be texted to the studio before booking. Hair generally needs to be at least 5 inches long, and shorter hair needs a consultation first. Standard knotless length is waist-length, and shoulder length can be requested by text after booking.

During a visit, shampoo and standard braiding hair are included with most styles unless a service says otherwise, and knotless and boho installs include a shampoo plus a complimentary snack and drink. Colored braiding hair is an extra charge and must be requested in advance. Crochet hair, Miracle Knots hair and wigs are not included. Children's services are drop-off only, and parents may wait in the lobby. Additional guests are not permitted at appointments. Hours are Tuesday 9 AM to 8 PM, Wednesday 10 AM to 8 PM, Thursday 9 AM to 8 PM, Friday and Saturday 7 AM to 4 PM, and the studio is closed on Sunday and Monday.

A booking payment is needed to hold an appointment, and many services require a deposit between $10 and $50. That booking payment cannot be refunded or transferred to someone else. Clients who cancel late or do not show up are charged 20% of the full service ticket, and cancellations need to be made at least 24 hours in advance. Arriving more than 15 minutes late brings a $25 fee, and the appointment may be cancelled if the delay is longer. The salon takes Zelle, Apple Pay and cash, but not Cash App. Debit, credit and tap-to-pay payments include a 3.6% processing fee. Financing through Buy Now, Pay Later is offered on services that cost $400 or more. Squeeze-in visits booked Tuesday through Saturday carry a $60 fee, and Saturday openings rotate from week to week. Specials cannot be stacked with any other discount.

New clients start with a consultation, and hair length and style are checked before an appointment is set.
