Services are grouped into blondes and balayage, color, dimensional color, extensions, men's cuts, and women's cuts. Prices listed on the services page apply to existing clients. New clients book through the New Clients page, choosing a Simple Color & Cut, Color Refresh, All Over Blonde, Just a Cut, or an extensions appointment, each of which begins with a consultation. Custom color and clip-in or tape-in extensions are priced after a consultation. Online booking is available through Fresha.

The salon's approach centers on learning how each client lives and what their daily routine looks like before a cut or color is chosen. The work leans toward lived-in color, precision cutting, and styles that don't need much upkeep.

Stylists at Strands are commission-based and work up to 30 hours a week with flexible scheduling. The salon supplies towels, caps, backbar color, bleach, tint brushes, bowls, combs, whisks, and station products, and offers business and educational classes to its stylists.
