In 2007 it moved to Woodhaven and was renamed Daybreak Salon and Spa, adding spa services. The salon says it has served the Downriver area for more than 50 years and has been operated by the Rushlow family throughout.

The salon says its aim is to bring out outer beauty by starting with inner harmony and well-being. Hair services include cutting, styling and shaping, color, extensions, smoothing and professional treatments. Color is done with Aveda and Color Space products, and hair services also use Kerastase. A complimentary consultation is required before first-time color services, color corrections and vibrant or fashion color, and color pricing depends on stylist level, hair length and condition, and time required.

Hours are Monday to Friday 9 AM to 8 PM and Saturday 8 AM to 4 PM, and the salon is closed on Sunday. Online booking is available, with a credit card or gift card deposit for online bookings. Guests are asked to arrive 15 minutes early, since late arrivals shorten treatment time. Cell phones are not permitted in the spa area, children are allowed in the spa only when receiving a service, and the spa is not responsible for lost or stolen belongings. Gift cards can be bought online, and a loyalty program lets clients earn points toward future services. Clients who refer a friend can earn points too.

Spa treatment packages combine several services into one visit, and the guest services team customizes them. They run from the Men's Retreat at $165 to the Day at the Spa at $365, which includes lunch. Three select spa services booked together receive a 10 percent saving, and a hair service can be added as a fourth. Massage begins with a consultation so the therapist can tailor the session, and the salon suggests booking massage weekly, monthly or quarterly.

Bridal services include bridal makeup and basic and complete bridal packages, with trials that must be booked in advance with a $50 deposit. The salon suggests starting about six months before the wedding and scheduling the hair and makeup trial no later than one month before. Bridal trials allow one or two companions at most. The salon also offers event styling, makeup, lashes and brows, princess parties, spa parties and services for children aged 10 and under.
