Hair services cover color (highlights, lowlights, ombre, balayage and grey coverage), cuts, shampoos, blowouts and styling, with a consultation offered to plan a hair and styling look. Hair extensions are installed in several methods, including sew-ins, microlinks, crochets, some braid styles, clip-ins, tape-ins and bonded wefts. Natural Stylez services are built for curls and textured hair, including curly cuts, wash and go styles, twist outs, silk presses and updos. A custom hair loss and care routine is available using quality products. Nail services include classic manicures, classic pedicures, spa treatments and gel services using professional nail care brands. Brow waxing and tinting and signature facials with skin care are also on the menu.
Some services have set rules. A consultation is required before a guest's first hair extension or keratin treatment appointment, and extensions that need color must be bought before the color service. For clients supplying their own extensions to be colored, a 50% deposit is required first. Color services are not performed on guests under 16, and guests under 18 need an adult guardian at the consultation. Children under 13 are not allowed in the salon unless they are receiving services. Clients who are not fully satisfied can ask for a redo of the same service at no additional cost during that appointment. Cancellations or changes need at least 24 hours' notice, and after three late cancellations or reschedules a non-refundable $25 deposit is required to book.
Beyond the salon, the studio sells Star Hair Extensions, described as 100% virgin human hair, both in studio and online. Bundles are ethically sourced, double wefted and hand chosen, in relaxed straight, blowout texture, body wave, curly and clip-in styles, with listed prices from $80.00 to $95.00. It also sells hair care products, tools and beauty essentials, and the Strut Boutique sells fashion apparel and accessories selected by Starsha Gaines. The studio offers gift cards, a Beauty Model program, and runs the StarStylez Beauty Foundation, a non-profit providing beauty and wellness services, mentorship and self-development programs to women in need.
The studio says it uses only professional-grade products for hair, skin and nails, and builds its services around confidence, creativity and self-expression.
