Speedbraider

Speedbraider was founded in 2022 by Stacey Ross, who has more than ten years of hands-on braiding experience. The studio operates out of a home in Sylmar, and personal services are done there rather than at a salon floor. Traveling services are offered only for pre-booked events and collaborations.

The business describes its braiding as quick and professional without giving up quality, and says its parts are clean and neat and its styles are built to last. It calls the service a private experience, with the appointment focused on one client at a time. Clients are asked to text rather than call, and same-day openings may be available when the business line is checked.

Signature styles include knotless braids, bohemian braids, box braids and design cornrows. The booking menu also covers feed-in braids, crochet braids, lace wig installs, twists, weaves and wigs, male braids, take-down appointments, a Sunday service, and content creation styles. Touch-ups are offered only for styles originally installed by Speedbraider, and the studio does not service styles done by other stylists.

Clients arrive with clean, fully detangled hair, since the business does not wash hair. Braiding hair (non-human) is included in select colors, and clients may bring their own hair for a reduced service rate. Children are welcome from age nine, and the children's booking is limited to natural hair. A parent or guardian must stay for the whole appointment, and the child needs to be able to sit comfortably through the service. Only the client is expected to attend, with one guest allowed.

Membership plans are billed monthly at three levels: Starter at $140, Pro at $200 and All Access at $280. The business calls Pro its most popular plan. Gift certificates are sold at $260, $380 and $500, and buyers can also choose their own amount; they cannot be redeemed for cash, and each appointment is deducted from the remaining balance.

Braiding is planned around clean parts, neat finishes and long-lasting styles, with each appointment handled privately by the owner.
