About

South Beach Wax & Spa has been a locally owned business since 2012. It sits at 8016 Hosbrook Road in Kenwood, about two minutes from Kenwood Mall, and is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 8pm and Saturday from 10am to 6pm. The phone number is (513) 792-9299.

Waxing is done with an organic, paraben-free, aloe-based hard wax made for sensitive skin, rather than soft wax. The salon says every waxing tool is either disposable or thoroughly sanitized between clients, and it offers patch tests for clients with skin conditions or allergies when needed. Before a wax, clients are asked to let hair grow to about a quarter inch, avoid shaving or depilatory creams for two to three weeks, skip retinol and similar products for at least two weeks, and stay out of the sun for 24 to 48 hours. The salon says body wax results usually last three to five weeks and suggests returning every three to four weeks.

Spray tanning is done by airbrush in three formulas: Anti-Aging, Hawaiian and Rapid. The salon says its solutions are paraben-free and made with organic, natural ingredients, and the Anti-Aging formula includes antioxidants and hyaluronic acid. Tans typically last one to two weeks, and clients are asked to wait six to eight hours before showering after an Anti-Aging or Hawaiian tan, and four to eight or more hours after a Rapid tan. Spray tans can be combined with a Brazilian wax in package pricing, and Glow Club memberships and Glow Packs bundle several tans at a lower per-tan cost, with membership sessions valid for 60 days.

Beauty treatments include brow tinting, brow lamination, lash lifts and lash tints, along with dermaplaning and microchanneling. Non-surgical services are performed by Dr. Scott Rapp, a board-certified plastic surgeon, and include facial fillers, Botox Cosmetic, laser hair removal, Laser Genesis, vascular treatments, sun spot treatment and acne scar treatment.

The salon focuses on clean, natural products for skin care, and its waxing uses an organic, aloe-based hard wax designed for sensitive skin.

The salon describes its setting as comfortable, professional and welcoming, and client testimonials describe it as clean and relaxing.
