Soleil Nail Studio

Soleil Nail Studio is an independent studio built by its owner, Vayanna, and her team, and it describes itself as a licensed, education-first studio. Gel products are its specialty, especially customizable services such as Gel-X and builder gel. Every service starts with a consultation before any work begins. Customized sets need a consultation first, where the design is finalized and a personal quote is given, and they must be booked at least one week ahead. Nail art is booked in one of five tiers, each limited by the number of nails and the complexity of the art; the tier is matched to a client's inspiration photo, or the studio picks one if a photo is sent. Removal and soak-off takes at least 30 minutes and is booked with a service. Pricing varies by artist level and service time. According to the studio, examples include the Soleil Hand Treatment at $20 (30 minutes), the Toe Color Change at $60 (about one hour), the Basic Pedicure at $70 (1 hour 15 minutes), the Spa Treatment at $75 (45 minutes), the Soleil Pedicure at $95 (1 hour 30 minutes), and both the Bridal Experience and Hands and Feet, Start to Finish at $250. Pedicures at Soleil are waterless, with no soaking tubs. A session uses steam towels, dry cuticle work, callus treatment and a lotion massage, with SpaRitual body scrub and creme and an Earl Grey detoxifying mud masque. Calluses are reduced rather than shaved off. The studio states that its waterless pedicures use a fraction of the water a traditional pedicure uses. The space is described as calm, spacious and low-odor, with soft light, clean air and several air purifiers. The studio also states that every tool and station is cleaned to medical-grade standards between clients.

The studio offers gel manicures with dry cuticle work, shaping, nail prep and gel color cured under a lamp. Gel color is said to typically last 2 to 3 weeks on hands and 3 to 4 weeks on toes. Gel-X soft-gel tips, sized to each client's nail bed, are bonded to the natural nail, then shaped and finished, and typically last 3 to 4 weeks. Gel-X sets still in good condition may sometimes be rebalanced with a builder gel fill; sets that are lifting or changing shape or length are taken off and reapplied. Structured gel manicures use builder gel to reinforce weak spots and build an apex without adding length. Hard gel, a stronger overlay, is recommended for nail biters or clients who are rough on their hands, and it lasts about four weeks with home care. A Naked Manicure, with no product, is available for clients who want a break. The studio does not offer acrylic, liquid-and-powder monomer or MMA services. It is an independent studio that uses the Gel-X system and has no affiliation with, and is not endorsed by, Aprés Nail.

Soleil runs an apprentice program built on hands-on training, one-to-one mentorship and work alongside instructors on real clients, with no prior experience required to join. Coursework spans sanitation, natural nail prep, manicuring, e-file technique, balancing and shaping, pedicuring, Aprés Gel-X, builder gel, hard gel, acrylic, nail art, business, social media and preparation for state testing. Apprentices earn commission and tips on the services they perform, and the studio covers the cost of all state board testing in advance. Each apprentice receives a kit the studio values at over $1,500 and keeps it on graduation. Daily schedules are arranged around each apprentice, and flexible payment plans are available. Apprentice services are discounted, are labeled Apprentice Services at booking, and are performed with the apprentice's instructor on-site. These appointments may run longer and may show minor cosmetic imperfections, so some clients may need correction time. Utah licenses nail technicians through the Division of Professional Licensing, which accepts an approved apprenticeship as one route; the studio says its apprenticeship goes beyond Utah's requirements.

Bridal bookings are recommended three to six months before the wedding. Bridal party packages are quoted per party based on group size and the services booked, and they can include group manicures and pedicures, refreshments and private studio time, with the Soleil Hand Treatment included. Cancellations need at least 24 hours' notice, and later ones are charged the full service cost to the card on file. Guests have a 15-minute grace period for lateness; after that, they must reschedule with at least 24 hours' notice and pay a $50 fee. The studio does not offer refunds, but it offers a complimentary adjustment or redo for concerns reported within 14 days. Mends within 7 days are complimentary, and mends from 7 to 14 days are $5 per nail. Appointments without a card on file are held until 5:00 PM Mountain Time on the day booked. Guests are asked to come alone, and children, babies and pets (other than service animals) are not permitted. Walk-ins are taken when there is an opening, though booking online or calling ahead is recommended. Free first-come parking is available in the lot behind the studio, reached from the alley on the west side of the building, and paid street and garage parking is nearby.

Natural nail health comes first, and builder gel is used as an overlay to strengthen natural nails rather than to build extensions.
