Sola Salons is a suite business rather than a salon with its own staff. Each renter operates an independent business inside a private suite, and the company provides the space and the basic setup.

The Plymouth Meeting location sits inside Plymouth Meeting Mall, between Whole Foods and Miller's Ale House, at Suite 1191. Its suites come as one-, two- or three-chair spaces. Each suite has a glass door with its own lock and key, and renters can get in 24/7, though access hours vary by location.

Suites include full-spectrum lighting, a shampoo bowl and a styling chair, along with utilities, 24/7 security and Wi-Fi. Renters pay one weekly fee that covers all utilities and Wi-Fi, and the company states that there are no surprise fees.

Renters set their own prices and work hours, choose the brands and products they sell, and keep all of the profits from their services and product sales. They also decorate their suites, including artwork, music and furniture, as they like. The company says it has a community of more than 20,000 independent business owners.

Some locations are Sola Salon Studios franchises, each independently owned and operated. Each professional or business at a Sola location is also independently owned, and Sola Salons is not responsible for their operations or staffing.

Sola Salons provides the space and shared infrastructure, while renters run their own businesses with full control over pricing, hours, products and décor.
