Sola Salons Raleigh Northwest is a franchise location of Sola Salon Studios, independently owned and operated. It works as a building of salon suites rather than a traditional salon, so each beauty professional runs a separate business in a suite of their own.

Suites are rented for one weekly fee that covers utilities and Wi-Fi, and the company says the cost is similar to renting a chair or booth in a traditional salon. Each suite has a glass door with its own lock and key. Renters receive a key, set their own working hours, and can access the suite around the clock, though hours vary by location.

Renters decide their own service and product prices and keep all profits. They also choose which brands and products to carry and keep the full profit from product sales. The building has on-site laundry and a spacious breakroom for renters.

The suite building sits off Glenwood Ave. at Pleasant Valley Road, about 1.5 miles north of Crabtree Valley Mall, in a shopping center that includes Dick's Sporting Goods, Ashley Furniture, Petco, Marshalls and Starbucks. The site says it is convenient for stylists and clients in the Dunaleigh, Lake Boone, Leesville and Brookhaven neighborhoods. The company says it has a community of more than 20,000 independent business owners. Other Sola locations in the area include North Raleigh, North Raleigh - Creedmoor, Raleigh Downtown, Cary, Cary South, Morrisville and Apex.

Professionals operate as independent business owners, setting their own prices, product choices and schedules in a private suite.
