Sola Salons rents salon suites to independent beauty professionals, and each Sola Salon Studios location is independently owned and operated. The Clear Lake location at 16921 El Camino Real is one of these. The company describes its community as more than 20,000 independent business owners and gives its mission as providing salon professionals with salon rental space.

Each tenant works in a private suite with a glass door that has its own lock and key, and suites have 24/7 access, though hours vary by location. Suites include cabinetry, sinks, ergonomic chairs and lighting, and the listed amenities include full-spectrum lighting, a shampoo bowl, a styling chair and 24/7 security. Tenants pay one weekly fee that covers all utilities and Wi-Fi.

Renters set their own prices for services and products, select the brands they carry, and keep what they earn from both. Suites are open to a wide range of beauty and wellness practitioners: hair workers such as barbers, hairstylists and extension specialists; skin and body practitioners including estheticians, massage therapists, waxers and medical spa practitioners; brow, lash and nail technicians; makeup artists; laser hair removers and permanent makeup artists; tattoo artists; and health and wellness professionals.

Each tenant runs their own business from a private suite, while the location supplies the space, utilities and security. Professionals set their own prices and choose their own products.
