Sola Salons provides studio suites for independent beauty and wellness professionals rather than employing stylists directly. Each professional rents a private studio, with standard, large and double sizes available at the Chester location, and runs their own business from it.

Each suite comes equipped with full-spectrum lighting, utilities, a shampoo bowl and a styling chair. Suites have a glass door with an individual lock and key, and the building offers 24/7 security. Access is around the clock, though hours vary by location.

Tenants pay a single weekly fee that covers all utilities and Wi-Fi. Suite owners set their own service and product prices, choose their own working hours, and keep all of their profits, including profits from any products they choose to sell. They also have exclusive use of their own supplies and equipment.

The Chester studios sit at the end of the Bermuda Crossroads Shopping Center near Cinema Cafe, with a large parking lot.

Sola Salons notes that each location is an independently owned and operated franchise, and the company states it is not responsible for the operations, employment or personnel matters of franchise owners or independent professionals. The company says it has more than 750 locations across the U.S. and Canada and over 20 years of experience working with independent professionals. Areas served include Chester, Bellwood, Chesterfield Court House, Colonial Heights, Hopewell, Petersburg and Henrico County.

Sola Salons runs its suites as a space for independent professionals, who set their own prices, hours and product sales and keep their own earnings.
