Organically Hair

Organically Hair is a Richmond studio located in Shockoe Bottom, owned by Aaron Roberson. Appointments are booked in advance, and the studio is open Tuesday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM and Saturday from 6:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Appointments outside those hours carry a $150 after-hours fee.

The studio's services are grouped into consultations, install maintenance, natural hair care, quick weaves, silk presses, take-downs and reinstalls, and traditional sew-ins. Natural hair color begins with a consultation, and pricing for extension coloring is provided by text on request. Extension hair the studio sells is available through its website, and it recommends several other extension brands. Before a visit, hair needs to meet a few preparation steps: at least 6 inches long all the way around, detangled in four sections, and, for clients coming out of a protective style, detangled with conditioner. Extension hair must be approved in advance, and bundles can be washed by the salon for a fee if requested before the appointment. Alopecia is not worked on, and the studio does not take pixie cuts unless the hair has grown out, cut-up bundles from other stylists, or installs begun by others.

The studio sets clear rules for hair length, preparation and extension hair so that each appointment is planned ahead of time.
