snipcut opened in September 2015, founded by Jeannie Lim and Sharla Baker, who had worked together as colleagues for years before starting the studio. It operates from Suite 100, Studio 8 inside Salon Republic on 2nd Street.

The menu covers men's and women's cuts, color, highlights and toner, and many appointments combine color work with a blow dry, a cut or a treatment. For smoothing, the studio offers Japanese hair straightening with the iStraight system, keratin treatments using GK Hair and Pure Brazilian products, and a GK Hair Nanoplastia smoothing treatment, which the salon says gives results very similar to a formaldehyde keratin. Wedding and special occasion styling, including bridal updos, is also offered, and on-location services can be quoted on request.

Free parking for 90 minutes is available in Public Parking Structure #4, just north of Salon Republic on the same side of the street. Appointments must be cancelled at least 48 hours in advance.
