A haircut visit has four parts. Children are welcomed and given an Adventure Club pass, then meet with a stylist to talk through the style and cut. The haircut itself is done in a kid-sized chair with entertainment such as videos and bubbles, and the visit ends with a prize from the Magic Box. Boys' and girls' cuts follow this format, and a separate First Haircut service is offered for babies and toddlers, with a Photo Package that includes a certificate, a picture and a lock of hair. Parents can have their own haircut or a quick trim in an adult-sized chair during the same trip.
Beyond haircuts, the salons offer custom add-ons such as shampoo, blow dry, comb out, basic braid, tinsel, color streak and hardline, along with trendy braids for kids in French, Dutch and 3-strand styles, which can include colored tinsel or synthetic strands. Party Style and Up-Do services cover braided buns, braids, high ponytails and accessorized looks for events. Kids' spa services include mini-manicures, mini-pedicures, beginner facials and a mother-daughter Mommy and Me package. Ear piercing for children is a basic earlobe piercing and is offered only at select salons. Swimmer Treatment is a kid-focused shampoo aimed at hard water staining and chlorine damage. Spa services are performed by licensed cosmetologists at select salons.
Parties include a Glamour Party with party hairstyles, sparkly makeup and a catwalk, and a Spa Party that can include manicures, pedicures and facials. Party availability and packages vary by location. Once a salon confirms a party, free online invitations can be sent through Punchbowl.
The company says its stylists complete specialized autism training developed with Autism Speaks, and that it was the first children's salon to offer this training. It also describes its salons as an inviting environment for families and children with autism. Stylists who complete 10,000 or more kids' haircuts, specialized training and receive nominations can be recognized through the Snip-its Legends Club.
