Smilelash & Nano Brows

The studio at 3250 Airport Way S in Seattle describes itself as a premier lash and brow studio. It was founded by Kayla Thai, an esthetician and trainer who has worked in Washington's beauty industry for over eight years.

Nano brows are semi-permanent: a needle deposits pigment in hair-like strokes beneath the skin. The studio offers them with machine hairstrokes, and a men's version uses Nano Strokes. Strokes are matched to the client's natural hair in color, thickness and angle. The service suits people with some existing brow hair as well as those with no eyebrows. Results generally last 1.5 to 3 years depending on skin type, and the studio suggests nano brows for clients with oily skin and enlarged pores. Touch-ups are offered after a six to eight week healing period.

Eyelash extensions are applied to each natural lash, never to the skin, with the eyes closed. Most clients return for a fill every two to three weeks, and the two-week fill is the most popular. An extended fill at three weeks is available if half the lashes remain. Extensions can be removed at the studio, which is the recommended method.

The studio runs in-person lash and brow courses through the Smilelash and Brow Academy. Current prices include $500 for the Nano Brows Masterclass, $500 for a two-day Private Lash Masterclass, $300 for the Advanced Lash Styling Workshop and $200 for the Brow Lamination, Shaping and Tint Workshop. Training deposits range from $200 to $500 and are non-refundable. Training certificates are not state licenses, so students check local licensing rules themselves. A Smilelash lash cleanser is sold for aftercare. Clients who need to reschedule should email at least 72 hours before their appointment. The building is secured, and the studio offers free parking and free Wi-Fi.
