Skye Extension Lounge

Skye Extension Lounge was founded in 2022 in Henderson and serves clients from across the Las Vegas area. The salon is built around hand-tied NBR extensions, a method that uses minimal contact points with the hair and no tape or glue. The salon says it keeps up with ongoing education in the latest extension techniques.

Visits are by appointment only, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30am to 5pm. To request a time, clients complete a guest application form. Every new installation begins with a consultation so the stylist can confirm the method suits the client. Installations usually take two to four hours, depending on the look and how much hair is added. Clients can work during their appointment, and each new install includes a meal and specialty beverages from the salon.

Extension color is custom matched to each client's natural hair using two to five shades. The salon uses ISLA hand-tied wefts made from 100% Remy human hair. ISLA comes in 18, 22 and 24 inch lengths and three textures, with 18 colors in total. The 18 inch length is available in silky straight, while the 22 and 24 inch lengths also come in beach wave and curly. ISLA is sold only to NBR certified artists.

Pricing depends on length, thickness and the style wanted, and a stylist gives an estimate after the consultation. Maintenance visits are recommended every six to eight weeks to adjust and secure the extensions, and their cost varies with the amount of adjustment needed. According to the salon, extensions typically last six to 12 months, depending on care, heat and the number of washes. Clients can color or chemically treat extensions, with a consultation first, and can swim and exercise with precautions such as tying hair up or wearing a swim cap.
