SKNN Studio opened in 2011 as Electrolysis by Melissa and is moving to the SKNN Studio name. Many of its clients have come by referral from friends and family. The website still uses the older Electrolysis by Melissa domain while the change is underway.

About

Electrolysis is the studio's core service and is offered to women, men, teens and transgender clients. Sessions run 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, priced at $45, $65, $85 and $100. Electrolysis treats visible hairs one at a time, so most people need a series of visits; how many depends on hair density, texture, hormones and medications. Longer large volume sessions of two hours or more are available, including for people preparing for surgery or transitioning.

Laser hair removal uses the Splendor X, which combines Alexandrite and ND:YAG wavelengths. It is offered to women and men and is described as suitable for all skin types, including tanned skin. Treatments take 10 to 60 minutes depending on the area. Sessions usually begin at 6 to 8 week intervals to follow the hair growth cycle, and the industry average cited is 6 to 12 sessions. Clients are asked not to tweeze, wax or thread the area beforehand and to shave just before the appointment. Single-area packages save 10% on three sessions and 15% on six.

Facial and skin care options include Hydrafacial in three timed versions: Signature at 30 minutes, Deluxe at 45 and Platinum at 60. The Deluxe version adds personalized boosters and blue or red LED therapy, and eye, lip and neck and decollete add-ons are available. Other services are a basic facial, a dermaplaning facial, a BioRePeel 35% TCA chemical peel, LED light therapy, lymphatic drainage, and a Keravive scalp treatment that cleanses follicles and infuses ingredients into the scalp.

Booking is by appointment only, by call or text. Free consultations are offered, and laser pricing is set by area and confirmed at that visit. The studio describes its space as clean, professional and private, with confidential treatment for men and women, and says it follows state rules on infection control. Late arrivals are charged for the full scheduled time. Missed appointments or cancellations with less than 24 hours notice carry a 50% fee. Clients under 16 must come with a parent or legal guardian.

Laser pricing and treatment plans are settled at a free consultation before booking. The studio says it follows state infection-control rules.
