Amber Room Day Spa was opened in Pikesville in 2014 by Polina Mirskiy and Julie Doronina. Polina's earlier path included seven years at Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa and the opening of her first skincare studio, Amber Room, at the Owings Mills JCC.

The facial menu covers a broad range of goals and skin types. Options include a custom facial, a sensitive skin facial, a deep pore purifying facial for problem skin, a prenatal or post-pregnancy facial, a teen facial, a back facial and a lifting facial. Several facials use mask and product choices from Shira, including an organic version using Shira-Organic and a CBD Gold Mask version. According to the salon, the Shira CBD line contains full-spectrum cannabidiol with trace THC levels and is not meant to produce a high. Celluma light therapy can be booked alone or added to any facial, and add-on masks and enzyme exfoliation are available.

Waxing is offered for the face, underarms, arms, legs, and bikini and Brazilian areas, with eyebrow tinting also available. Waxing uses Italian Calendula hard wax with tea tree, and the practice states that the wax is never double dipped. Before a wax, clients are asked to exfoliate a few days ahead, let hair grow to about a quarter-inch and avoid shaving. Afterward, clients are advised to skip working out, hot tubs and swimming for 24 hours. PFB Chromabright is sold for soothing irritation and evening skin tone after waxing.
