Simple Beauty by Emily was previously operated as Microblading by Emily before taking its current name. It is a permanent makeup studio led by Emily DeCarlo, located at 164 Buffalo St in Hamburg, New York, and it serves clients from Buffalo and across Western New York. The studio's focus is semi-permanent brows, offered in three styles. Nano Brows are a semi-permanent technique done with a handheld machine and an ultra-fine needle cartridge, which builds hair-stroke patterns. The studio describes them as a more precise and modern alternative to microblading, and says hair-strokes can be layered for a more natural result. Combo Brows blend those Nano hair-strokes with powder shading, and Powder Brows create a soft, powdery look that can suit any skin type. A consultation is optional and not required before booking, since the artist consults at the appointment itself. Each visit covers the full process step by step, and clients leave with a take-home aftercare card. Nano Brow healing takes about four weeks, moving through darker, flaking and lighter stages before the color settles to the goal shade. Touch-ups are usually recommended every 12 to 18 months, once the semi-permanent brows have faded by roughly half. Nano Brows, Combo Brows and Powder Brows cost $495, $495 and $465 respectively, due at the first appointment, with a $100 deposit to book. Brow touch-ups cost $235 with a $50 deposit. Saturday hours are 9am to 3pm, and the studio is closed Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
