Silky Skin

Silky Skin was founded by owner Elsa McCarthy and operates from its suite on Honolulu Avenue in Montrose. The spa aims to help people of all ages and backgrounds work toward healthy, bright skin, using natural and organic products and non-invasive treatments. Its philosophy centers on internal wellness and on products and techniques meant to calm and nurture the skin rather than irritate it, and treatment planning takes whole-body health into account. New clients begin with a complimentary skin consultation, which leads to a customized treatment plan. New clients are asked to submit the New Client Intake and Consent Form at least one day before their first appointment. In-person appointments take place only at the Montrose address, while virtual facials are the online option. The Silky Skin Signature Facial is adjusted to skin type and includes deep cleansing, exfoliation, extractions as needed, a fruit-enzyme mask and facial massage. Depending on the goal, it may include RevitaPen, oxygen infusion, Dermafile or Celluma LED light therapy. A pregnancy facial is offered for the typical skin changes that occur during pregnancy. The Clear Skin Facial treats acne, rosacea and melasma and includes a holistic at-home regimen consultation. The Age-Defying Facial Skin Care Treatment uses nutrient-rich products and serums with technology intended to support collagen and cellular activity. The TAMA Microcurrent Facial is a non-surgical facial toning treatment with no needles, injections or incisions, and it may cause mild tingling. It is offered as a series planned during a consultation, with a suggested schedule that depends on age: monthly for ages 20 to 35, weekly for two months then every 21 days for ages 35 to 55, and weekly for three months then every 10 days for ages 55 and up. It is not suitable for people who are pregnant or nursing, have a pacemaker, metal implants, open sores, epilepsy, active cancer, or certain fillers within 30 days. Prices listed by the spa: Signature Facial $155 for 60 minutes or $185 for 90 minutes; Clear Skin Facial $135 for a 30-minute express or teen maintenance session, $175 for 60 minutes or $205 for 90 minutes; Age-Defying Treatment $175 for 60 minutes, $205 for 75 minutes, $275 for 90 minutes or $350 for 120 minutes; TAMA Microcurrent from $145 to $290 depending on add-ons, with discounted packages; Virtual Facial $95 for 50 minutes or $120 for 90 minutes, booked at least one week ahead, with a customized facial kit shipped to the client. The spa has a 24-hour cancellation policy. Late cancellations and no-shows incur a $50 fee, invoiced through Square, which is waived if the spot is filled by someone from the waiting list. Silky Skin also sells gift cards.
